Features
Each article is commissioned by the Chapter Editors along with the in-house editorial team. Authors are eminent specialists in their field, and the articles are reviewed by the chapter editors, an editorial board member, the Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics Editor (when appropriate) and the in-house editor.
Reviews all follow the same format for ease-of-use:
- Abstracts and keywords are always provided so the reader can assess whether the article is the right one for the knowledge they wish to acquire
- The text is split up into manageable chunks under easily identifiable headings, so navigating to the most important parts when time is of the essence is easy
- Bullet points and boxes are scattered throughout the text to highlight important messages and further break-up the text
- Colourful and practical figures are used when appropriate and compliment the text
- A 'What's new' box is provided at the beginning of most reviews to summarize new developments which have happened in the field in the previous few years. This is particularly useful for physicians who want to keep up-to-date with the latest advances
- Practice points are provided at the end of relevant articles. These contain the key take-home messages of the article
Also, the What's new articles highlight the latest developments in a different medical specialty.
